Bill D., a 49-year-old Marion County firefighter, thought he was
just like everyone else with a few pounds to lose. He tried
losing the weight on his own, but instead kept gaining.

“After several episodes with kidney stones, I had a complete physical. May lab work was not looking very pretty. I had borderline high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol and triglicerides and high protein in my urine. At the same time my employer was starting to challenge our physical fitness. I was very depressed about my weight and felt somewhat hopeless.
