Juvederm®
What is Juvederm? Juvederm® is a non-surgical, FDA-approved treatment for the temporary filling and smoothing of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the "parentheses" lines from your nose to corner of your mouth (nasolabial folds). As skin ages, it loses hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring sugar complex that helps provide fullness and elasticity to your skin. As the hyaluronic acid diminishes, skin loses volume, increasing the chances for wrinkles and folds to appear. Juvederm® contains hyaluronic acid. Treatment with Juvederm® supplements the body’s natural hyaluronic acid, rejuvenating your appearance. What should I expect? During the Juvederm® treatment, your Monarch physician will make a few injections to fill and lift certain facial wrinkles, such as the “parentheses" around your mouth. Unlike surgery, this simple office procedure is relatively painless and takes about 15 minutes. Side effects are minimal; most patients can resume their busy lives immediately. Results last for six to nine months, when the biocompatible compound is absorbed into the body.
